Most mums love a bit of Afternoon Tea. The Lowry Hotel, Manchester’s five-star hotel and restaurant, have stepped it up a notch this Mother’s Day with UNLIMITED Afternoon Tea. There will be a swanky buffet-style set up in their Grand Ballroom, where you and mum can indulge on plenty of delicious cakes and savouries including their delicious fresh scones and Jam (we bloody love the Lowry’s Afternoon Tea scones) whilst enjoying the live entertainment. Book in for brunch or Sunday Lunch on Mother’s Day and have your family portrait taken by artist and photographer Elle Brotherhood. Creating a relaxed, fun and informal environment for families of all shapes and sizes, Elle will capture you and your ma at your best.
Bottomless Brunch @ Black Dog AND Dog Bowl
Fancy over indulging? Well, you’re in luck because the Northern Quarter’s Black Dog and Whitworth Street’s Dog Bowl will both be offering mum their famed Bottomless Brunch weekend menu for just £20! (that includes ANY dish from the brunch menu and BOTTOMLESS drinks!) On top of a long list of American and British breakfast classics, they’ve also got plenty of vegan options. Available from 11am-4pm (last bookings taken at 2pm).
Family Rave @ The Refuge
The perfect spot for disco mums is The Refuge this mothering Sunday with a specially curated 2-hour rave for kids and mums. It’s all about the music with plenty of soul, techno and disco making you tap your twinkle toes.
Terrarium and Gin Tasting Workshop @ Harvey Nichols
This unique terrarium and gin tasting event is being held over at Harvey Nichols on Sunday 4th April. The 90-minute masterclass hosted by LSA will teach you and Mam how to handcraft your very own living terrariums, whilst sinking some delicious gins from The Forest Distillery – sounds PERFECT to me. The workshop costs £65pp and includes your lush handcrafted terrarium, a Forest Gin welcome cocktail and gin tasting, as well as light bites, refreshments, and tea and coffee. Lovely.
Free Cava & Brunch @ Trove
Easily one of the most popular brunch spots in town is Trove and especially for Mother’s Day they’re giving away Free Cava and hosting two pop-up florists from @florence.inflowers and @flowerythings101. On the menu is the Merguez Breakfast made with Merguez sausages, fried egg, labneh, pickled turnips, dukkah, zhoug and toast of your choice from the bakery. There’s plenty of other amazing dishes but that ones my fave.
Complimentary Desserts and Sunday Roasts @ Zouk
Whether you wanna go brunch, lunch or even a Sunday roast at Zouk, they’ve got your back and they will even chuck in a complimentary dessert to treat your mum. Brunch menu is served from 9-1:30pm and includes a traditional Indian breakfast menu with authentic recipes and a modern twist. On the Sunday roast side of things you can go all out and feed the entire family with a Whole Roasted Lamb or keep things smaller with a Whole Roast Chicken or even just a leg of lamb.

The art exhibition made entirely of Lego bricks (over 1 million to be a bit more precise) has made a stop on its worldwide tour in Manchester. Each dish comes with all the Sunday gubbins. Can’t promise you won’t argue with your mum about which is better, hers or Marble Arch though – sorry!
