Ducie Street Warehouse, formerly CULTUREPLEX, is set to reopen on Saturday 4th July with a new food and drink offering, workspace and outdoor space.
The vast Grade II listed former Victorian warehouse on Ducie Street will be introducing an evolved offering across the ground floor, alongside all six of the upper floors reopening with Native’s 166 beautifully-designed apartments available to book.
The ground floor will now simply be known as Ducie Street Warehouse. Inside, you’ll find Counter – a one stop shop, coffee and wine bar – serving hot and cold snacks, great coffee, locally sourced beers, in-house cocktails and Gooey’s delectable cookies and brioche donuts.
This new grab and go offer can be taken away, enjoyed on the outdoor terrace or on one of the many tables available in the Lounge.
Ducie Street Warehouse will also become an inviting new haven for those looking to ease their way back into working in the city centre. The perfect halfway house between working from home and working in an office, WORK at Ducie Street Warehouse will offer a relaxed, comfortable, intermediary co-working space.
People will be able to purchase a Weekly Pass for £50 per person, which will include a £10 credit per day to use at Counter, or a Daily Pass for £12 (including a £10 credit for Counter.) Anyone with a pass will have access to bottomless filter coffee/tea/water included.
Jacqui Griffiths, General Manager at Ducie Street Warehouse said: “We have such incredible space available to us on the ground floor and have been working hard over the last few months to create a place for Manchester to ease back into work and fun.
“We see Counter as a real hub, offering everything from pastries and juice in the morning to mezze boxes and cocktails in the afternoon. It’s an ideal place to drop in and pick something up whether you’re staying in one of our apartments and want to eat in, meeting friends on our terrace for a catch up and a bottle of wine or dropping by on your way home to grab a house-made meal kit for dinner.
“We had a lot of people who used the ground floor space to work from prior to lockdown and we wanted to give this usage a bit more of an identity and create an offer to suit those who want to work from town but don’t have an office to do so. There’s always been such a lovely atmosphere in the Lounge and we’re confident people will benefit from the flexibility of this offer in a home from home environment.
“We’ve spent a lot of time preparing for reopening, deep cleaning the apartments and implementing social distancing, health and safety guidelines for service and food prep so that people can visit Ducie Street with confidence and make the most of the offer we have here.
“When we’re in a position to do so, we will also reintroduce our cultural events calendar, workshops and DJs and reopen the Cinema. There’s a lot to look forward to and we can’t wait to welcome people back!”
