I’ll go out on a limb and say that Hawksmoor is the best place for a steak in the city. There are many people and businesses who will disagree with me, but I’m going to stick to my guns on this one.
Imagine my excitement then, when approximately 3 minutes ago I opened my Gmail to discover that they’re taking part in August’s ‘Eat Out to Help Out’ scheme.
Over the past 15 years, the team at Hawksmoor has worked with farmers to get their hands on a consistent supply of top-shelf beef from cattle that have been ethically reared in this country. It is their belief that animal welfare, sustainable farming and support of independent farming aren’t just the right things to do, but also as close as you can get to a guarantee of great tasting steaks.
To that end, Hawksmoor has taken 300g of 35-day dry-aged rump steak, added chips and a sauce, all of which would usually cost about £30 and reduced it to £20. Hawksmoor has also enrolled for the Eat Out to Help Out scheme, which means that everyone who orders it will get 50% off.
‘The Best Steak and Chips in Britain for £10‘ is available Monday to Wednesday throughout August at all Hawksmoor restaurants that are open.
The Eat Out to Help Out discount (50% off food up to £10) is also available on the full menu (so you could have cut-price Chateaubriand or lobster instead). £5 corkage also continues every Monday … The Best Steak and Chips in Britain and a bottle of great wine for £15?!
