Earlier this year Bar Centro on Tib Street in the Northern Quarter closed its doors seemingly out of nowhere, and so was lost one of the Northern Quarter’s stalwarts. But now from Centro’s ‘ashes’ rises the latest bar to grace our streets in the form of the Tib Street Tavern.
The Tib Street Tavern embraces the history and tradition of the Northern Quarter, combining a vintage pub design with some contemporary features. The new owners have literally stripped back the building to the brickwork and on opening promise plush surroundings with much more than just the traditional snug found in most old style taverns, combining cosy seating areas, feature walls and windows, tin clad ceilings, delicate lighting over two floors and a high spec bar design and layout that offers a contemporary contrast to the rest of the Tib Street Tavern. Imagery of a 1950′s Tib Street will be scattered throughout, echoing a theme of local history and complimenting the relaxed and classic pub feel of the venue, fitting for a bar in a part of Manchester that dates back to the 1700′s.
The Tib Street Tavern promises no gimmicks, and it’s not attempting to be a theme bar styled like a traditional pub. It doesn’t offer fancy cuisine, just a good old fashioned selection of beers, spirits and wines from around the continent and premium bar snacks to satisfy any cravings.
