Moor Hall (1)
Last night saw the annual National Restaurant Awards (sponsored by Estrella Damm) take place and Lancashire’s Moor Hall has been named the UK’s Best Restaurant – seeing off London’s finest for a second time.
The two-Michelin starred restaurant was opened by Chef Mark Birchall in 2017, set in a 16th century house in the stunning countryside of Lancashire.

Coming in second and third respectively was The Angel at Hetton, a gastropub in North Yorkshire, and three-Michelin starred Core by Clare Smyth in Noting Hill.
Number 11 in the list saw an appearance by Simon Martin’s Mana, and for the first time, half of the restaurants on the list are actually located outside of the capital. Another Ancoats addition was ERST, coming in at a very impressive 47.

The rankings are calculated from the votes of more than 200 experts including chefs and critics who submit their best restaurant experiences over the past 12 months across the U.K., taking into consideration the quality of the food, service, atmosphere and price.
