From the organisers of the award-winning Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair, comes the Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fair bringing high quality craft from leading designer-makers to various venues across Cheshire throughout 2013.

The first of these is set to take place at Altrincham Grammar School for Boys on Sunday 28th April, from 10-5pm. The fair will feature over 40 specially selected designer makers and artists from the region selling a range of hand-made work, from unique jewellery and fashion accessories to beautiful things for the home.

The Little Northerns will offer a unique shopping event in your local area. You can meet the makers direct, chat to them about their work and buy one-off, individually produced work for you or your home, or pick up special presents for friends or family…

“The Great Northern Contemporary Craft Fair (GNCCF), held annually in Spinningfields, Manchester is the biggest selected craft fair in the North. The aim of the smaller Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fair events, is to promote designer-makers, especially those based in the region, and by taking these events out to the suburbs of Manchester and Cheshire we hope to build the audience for contemporary craft in the North West. We want to replicate the quality of the main event and show that small can also mean high quality.”
Angela Mann Organiser

The organisers, Angela Mann and Ann-Marie Franey set up Great Northern Events, as a not for profit company 6 years ago to raise the profile of contemporary craft and give the wealth of talented designer-makers based in the region a high quality showcase to sell work.

Other Little Northern Contemporary Craft Fairs will take place at Cheadle Hulme School on Sunday 19th May, Wilmslow High on Sunday 16th June and The King’s School in Macclesfield on Sunday 7th July.

“The Little Northerns will offer a unique shopping event in your local area. You can meet the makers direct, chat to them about their work and buy one-off, individually produced work for you or your home, or pick up special presents for friends or family. As we move away from mass production, these events are about finding something you love and buying it direct from the people who made it,” said Ann-Marie Franey.
