Fig + Sparrow is a new cafe & shop in the ever bustling Northern Quarter.
After chatting Jan and Emily the 2 owners I can honestly say that this place has a seriously good vibe. Starting with the shop which is front of house, lovely homewares on show combining locally sourced craft goods (screen prints and artwork hailing from Islington Mill amongst others) alongside cherry picked home staples the mix is spot on. “We wanted to create a place for local people to nip in and buy great quality gifts” and in my opinion they’ve certainly delivered on that.
Through to the cafe and straight in with a top quality coffee roast brought in from the North East (shipped up the Tyne and roasted in Byker) – with the bar being so high these days from a coffee point of view Fig &Sparrow haven’t comprimised. Put that together with a great selection of loose leaf teas and the staples for success are there.
