Wigan has a sizeable legacy when it comes big events and nights out on the town. Wigan Casino was a site of pilgrimage for fans of Northern Soul during its reign, and Wigan Pier hosted some of Northern England’s most seminal acid house raves. Then there’s today’s contemporary crop of venues, like Feast At The Mills. An all-in-one destination for eating, drinking, partying, playing, listening, dancing and generally letting your hair down, it’s a prime example of next generation hospitality-cum-nightlife, catering to a multitude of tastes, serving myriad flavours, and keeping the entertainment fresh weekend-in, weekend-out.

Feast At the Mills features “a range of delicious street food including Block Steak Shop, Christakis Greek cuisine, Dough So Good Italian dishes, Pattersons famous fried chicken and Velvets tasty sweet treats. Our two licensed bars offer craft beers and wines, cocktails and spirits, and we have new bands performing every week on our sound stage. With film and event screenings every week and a relaxing coffee lounge offering our own unique barista-prepared coffees and teas, there’s some Feast for everyone.”

One of the biggest draws is the address itself — a site that nods to the area’s industrial heritage, but with plenty of contemporary touches and flourishes throughout the various corners and spaces waiting to be explored. Aside from all that, the breadth of events Feast At The Mills hosts is also worth a big shout. At the time of writing, the calendar ranges from DJs like Andy Mac and the Funk Soul Family, through to mesmerising guitar-vocal soloist Mark Frith. Not quite your thing? How about a ‘Frozen’ sing-a-long movie screening, or watching the FA Cup Final in the open air? Operating Friday from 5PM-12AM, Saturday 12-11PM, and Sunday 12PM to late, it’s pretty hard to think of many reasons not to get involved.
