The owners of Spinningfields favourite Firefly have decided to close the doors of their LA-inspired restaurant.

In a statement, they said that decision has been made ‘with a heavy heart’, and comes in the wake of ‘unsuccessful’ negotiations with their landlord over the unit’s lease.

The statement reads:

“It’s with a heavy heart that Firefly Manchester will close its doors at One New Bailey after unsuccessful lease renewal negotiations with the landlord.

“We have explored various alternatives and potential relocation options but unfortunately none were viable within the given timeframe.

“We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our dedicated staff and loyal customers for their unwavering support over the years and for making Firefly such a prominent part of the Manchester nightlife scene.

“We are now working closely with other operators to rehome the team.”

The restaurant opened in 2019, and was known for its all-day and into the night service, championing ‘free spirited, social dining’, opening for brunch and closing late on weekends.

Ostentatiously styled like a tropical paradise, the menu took in flavours of North and South America, Europe and East Asia.
