The fourth event to be announced in Manchester Food and Drink Festival’s ‘Hidden Banquet’ series is on sale now. “Technology” by Deliveroo is taking place at Sound Space 2 on Friday 7th October.
The Hidden Banquets series programmed in partnership with Allied London will allow festival-goers to explore some of the city’s secret, undiscovered and down right jaw dropping spaces, in association with the nation’s most talented and exciting chefs and food heroes, all in the context of Manchester’s cultural identity and heritage.
“Technology” by Deliveroo will be a banquet for 100 people on Friday 7th October at Sound Stage Two at Old Granada Studios – a high spec filming space which was used, amongst other things, as the set for Roy’s Rolls on Coronation Street, and is still in use as a film set. This is a location never used before by the public and will be accessed via an exciting trail to be revealed on the night.
“Technology” will explore Manchester’s (huge) contribution to technology – as the birthplace of the computer and now one of the world’s most cutting edge cities, there’s plenty to go at.
The event is, appropriately, sponsored by one of the most successful food apps of all time Deliveroo and brought to guests by them in association with some of Manchester’s best restaurants.
Dinner will come in the form of a 5-course banquet courtesy of 5 different Deliveroo Restaurants and deliveroo’d fresh from their kitchens.
Guests wil enjoy specially created courses from..
Tampopo
Salvi’s
Almost Famous
Scene
Vapiano
… all served with wine by Veeno!
There’ll be guest talks from representatives of the apps and sites that have changed our lives, all in a TED talk style, plus a commentary from historian Jonathan Schofield putting Manchester’s contribution to technology in context.
Guests are also invited to bring their own booze to accompany the rest of the banquet!
A donation from tickets will be made to StreetSmart – the Christmas charity scheme where participating restaurants add a voluntary £1 to the bill over November and December and the monies collected are donated to local, Greater Manchester homeless charities.
There are 100 tickets for the banquet, priced at £55 available from the link below:
