As you may already know, The Lowry Hotel’s River Restaurant has decided to drop lunch and replace it with a traditional afternoon tea- something they have excelled in for years serving up to 2000 teas every month.
The Lowry Hotel, therefore, decided to work with their strengths and decided to put their energy into making the hotel the place to be for afternoon tea.
So, not only have they put their heart and soul into making the city’s most beautiful afternoon tea, but The Lowry Hotel has also launched a monthly changing themed tea which will take influence from events in the city and holidays.
Last month, we saw the Pride Afternoon tea which was appropriately rainbow coloured and smothered in glitter.
This month, the theme is Back to School, and the talented chefs are looking down memory lane for inspiration for all the lovely sweet-treats.
Savouries include:
Smoked Turkey Breast with Avocado & Rocket
Hot Smoked Salmon with Horseradish Crème Fraîche
Creamed Brie Mousse with Sweet Fig Relish
Cucumber with Cream Cheese & Dill
While the sweets are a nod to all your favourite school-dinner puds:
Bananas & Custard
Treacle Sponge with Marmalade & Butterscotch
Pineapple Upside Down Cake
English Style Coconut Macaroon with Cherries
These delights will be served alongside freshly baked scones with clotted cream and preserves as well as a lovely selection of loose leaf teas by Tea from the Manor.
The Back to School Afternoon Tea is available throughout September and costs £29.50 per person or £33 with Prosecco.
