The 160 cover seating area downstairs main focus is the large tree providing a canopy for tables, with vintage pendant lights creating the perfect cosy spot.
Bi-folding doors maximise the light which hits the restaurant all day and create an inside-outside area with an extra 40 covers.
The relaxed and casual upstairs lounge is currently set to be a jungle theme, with large white walls, chesterfield sofas and street art.
The twist with this restaurant is that unlike most, not only will it seasonally change it’s food and drinks menu, it will completely overhaul the interior design.
The wooden panels lining the wall can be chopped and changed. The restaurant has free rein on the theme, meaning they can roll out a new design based on stories, books or just to match the menu.
Indeed, when the Printworks is set to become a Harry Potter haven, expect Blank Canvas to incorporate some spells and broomsticks.
Owner, Joseph Bolger, comes from a hospitality background and a Michelin star Lake District restaurant and explains he’s ready to breathe life back into the Printworks with his new, unique concept.
The menu, although changeable will have crowd-pleasing staples like wings, burgers and even some freakshakes loaded with cakes and giant sweet treats.
Blank Canvas promises hearty soul food and theatrical cocktails. This season’s All-American eatery will see a New York takeover for Summer.
Open from 12 pm every day, step off the busy streets and pull up a stool in the restaurant or lounge.
