A new Mexican-inspired bar and restaurant is set to open in Spinningfields this spring. OCASA, which promises flame-grilled feasts, small plates and tequila-based cocktails, will open on Friday 18 March.
The cosy, rustic decor will take inspiration from the shores of Tulum, as well as the bustling streets of Mexico City. Diners will be able to enjoy a menu inspired by the flavours of Mexico, as well as cocktails and late-night entertainment that will all follow the Latin-American theme.

The menu will feature robata-grilled yakitori-style taco skewers, imaginatively dubbed ‘yaki takos’, vibrant bowls, sharing plates and Sunday feasts. Dishes will include things like dragon salt wagyu tacos and lobster thermidor nachos. They’ll also offer a signature guacamole, prepared table-side.
The kitchen will be headed up by executive chef Lucie Sainerova, who previously worked at the prestigious Novikov International in London.

There’ll also be a huge focus on tequila, offering one of the UK’s most extensive collections of premium agave spirits, alongside an extensive cocktail menu. When dining turns into partying, there’ll be DJs and mariachi bands to entertain revellers.
Located on The Avenue, in what was previously Sunset by Australasia, OCASA will neighbour Australasia, which has just announced plans for their forthcoming transformation.
