Taking place after hours in Broughton Leisure Centre, Take On Me is immersive theatre at its best.

Take On Me is set in the 1908’s world of headbands and leg warmers – following a lonely woman coming to the gym for the first time and a lifeguard who has never saved anyone.

The audience will follow the large cast of characters through changing rooms, the gym, an aerobics class and finally the pool. You’re a fly on the wall for one extraordinary day in these people’s lives, and there’ll be a fair few surprises too.

Expect live musicians to belt out some classic 80’s hits including ‘I Wanna Dance with Somebody‘ and ‘Flashdance‘, as well as characters from some of the most iconic 80’s films to appear out of nowhere to change the course of the story.

I’ve also heard that there’s a bit where The Karate Kid sings ‘Holding Out for a Hero’ at the side of the pool. Which is worth the admission fee alone if you ask me!
