If you were looking to take a breather before the chaos of the party season, you might struggle this November. Gig-wise, it’s shaping up to be a big month for fans of 90s and 00s alternative rock, with an anniversary shows from Interpol at the 02 Apollo and a run if reunion shows from The Libertines at Albert Hall.
Ravers are well served too (as ever), with huge names like Fat Boy Slim, Annie Mac and Homobloc happening this month too. And if you’re not just a little bit excited about shows from celtic pop icons The Corrs, we simply don’t believe you.
Interpol at O2 Apollo
In celebration of the 20th anniversary of their landmark album Antics, Interpol will be playing the 2004 album in full. Formed in New York City, Interpol rose to prominence with their unique blend of post-punk and shoegaze influences. Over the course of their career, they have released seven critically acclaimed studio albums, and will play at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on Saturday 2 November 2024.
Annie Mac at Albert Hall
DJ Annie Mac brings her Before Midnight show back to the Albert Hall in Manchester this November. Following successful outdoor shows this summer, Annie brings the clubbing concept back inside for the winter. The shows will be darker, sweatier and more intimate, where Annie is playing longer sets, and returning to the original principles of Before Midnight.
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds at Ao Arena
Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds have announced their first headline tour of the UK and Europe since 2017, including a date at Manchester’s AO Arena on 5 November 2024. The tour follows the release of the hugely popular band’s 18th studio album Wild God, which was released in August.
MTV Push Live x BOTW – Nxdia, Nina Cobham, Rumbi Tauro & Shimrise
MTV Music Week continues with MTV Push Live at Band on the Wall, hosted by the electrifying Manchester DJ duo Shimrise. Ahead of the MTV European Music Awards, the evening will feature the city’s most exciting breakthrough talent. Fans can expect a series of unique performances from alt-pop musician Nxdia, singer-songwriter Nina Cobham and R&B Soul artist Rumbi Tauro.
Glass Animals at Co-op Live
Indie rock band Glass Animals bring their global TOUR OF EARTH live shows to Manchester in November. With support from The Big Moon, the GRAMMY and BRIT-nominated band will play the Co-op Live arena on Saturday 2 November.
The Libertines at The Albert Hall
Comeback kings The Libertines celebrate the release of album All Quiet On The Eastern Esplanade with a UK tour. Carl, Pete, John and Gary play at the Albert Hall in Manchester for three nights from 7 to 9 November 2024.
Journey at AO Arnea
US rock legends Journey bring their 50th Anniversary Freedom Tour to the UK, stopping off for a date in Manchester. The Don’t Stop Believin’ hitmakers, featuring original line-up and founding band-member Neal Schon, with Jonathan Cain and Arnel Pineda, they will perform at AO Arena on Friday 8 November 2024. Support comes from fellow veteran rockers Cheap Trick.
Homobloc at Depot Mayfield
Homobloc returns to transform Depot Mayfield, home of the Warehouse Project, into a queer block party for all on Saturday 9 November. The absolute knock-out line-up includes headliner Christine And The Queens alongside sets from Job Jobse, Oneda, Tiga, Shygirl, Horse Meat Disco, Erol Alkan, Prosumer, Hercules and Love Affair, Nicky Siano, Joshua James, Hannah Holland, Confidence Man, Kath McDermott and many (seriously, many) more. The day-to-night party will kick off at 3pm and finish at 4am. So take a packed lunch.
Deep Purple at AO Arena
Deep Purple, one of Britain’s most revered rock bands, return to the road in November 2024 with the One More Time tour. Formed in 1967, they’ve sold over 100 million records, and continue to release hugely successful albums. Celebrating over six decades of music, the Highway Star legends will perform at the AO Arena in Manchester on Saturday 9 November.
Nas Illmatic 30 Year Anniversary Tour at O2 Victoria Warehouse
Released 30 years ago by a then 20-year-old Nas, Illmatic is widely regarded as one of the greatest hip hop albums of all time, cementing Brooklyn-born Nasir Jones as one of the greatest rappers to do it. In celebration of the 30th anniversary of this so seminal of debut albums – produced by icons like DJ Premier, Large Professor, Peter Rock and Q-Tip – Nas will head out on tour, performing Illmatic in full. He plays Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse on Sunday 10 November 2024.
The Corrs at AO Arena
Irish pop icons The Corrs bring their Talk On Corners tour to Manchester in November. The multi-million selling sibling quartet, best known for songs Breathless, Runaway and So Young, will perform at the AO Arena on Monday 11 November. Support comes from Aussie pop royalty Natalie Imbruglia.
London Grammar at AO Arena
Indie-pop band London Grammar bring their biggest tour to date to Manchester this month. The trio, formed in Nottingham in 2009, will play arenas across the UK and Europe, including a date at the AO Arena on Tuesday 12 November.
Courteeners at Co-op Live
Manchester’s very own Courteeners celebrate the release of their recently released album Pink Cactus Café with a UK tour. Marking the band’s first new music since 2020, they play a hometown show at Co-op Live on Friday 15 November 2024.
W H Lung at New Century
Named after the famous Chinese supermarket near the University buildings (because why not?) W.H. Lung return to their native Manchester for a huge headline gig. The electro five-piece will perform at New Century on Saturday 16 November.
Kasabian & The Streets at Co-op Live
Sergio and co follow a busy festival season with four headline dates across the UK – including a show at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 16 November. The Leicester rockers will be supported by Mike Skinner – aka The Streets.
Julian Lage at New Century
California-born, New York-based musician Julian Lage brings his Solo Guitar show to Manchester this November. Boasting a prolific solo resume, as well as collaborations with the likes of Gary Burton, John Zon and Chris Eldrige, the impressive guitarist will headline at New Century on Tuesday 19 November.
Blossoms Five Nights in Manchester
Blossoms embark on an epic five-night residency in Manchester this November. The Stockport band, whose fifth studio album Gary was released in September, have announced five consecutive nights in different venues across Manchester from Tuesday 19 to Saturday 23 November.
Tom, Joe, Myles, Josh and Charlie will play at Manchester Academy (19 November), O2 Ritz (20 November), Albert Hall (21 November), O2 Victoria Warehouse (22 November) and O2 Apollo (23 November).
Speaking about the Manchester residency, Blossoms said: “We wanted to do something special with the Manchester shows for this run of gigs. We played each one of these venues on our way up, so it’s great after our Wythenshawe Park show to go and do these venues and remember where everything started for us. It’s a love letter of shows to the city! We can’t wait x.”
Rag ‘n’ Bone Man at O2 Apollo
Critically acclaimed, chart-topping British singer-songwriter Rag’n’Bone Man celebrates the release of forthcoming album What Do You Believe In? with a huge UK tour. The Human singer will stop off at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on Wednesday 20 November 2024.
Villanelle at Night & Day
Villanelle follow up their slot as the opening band on Liam Gallagher’s 30 years of Definitely Maybe dates by announcing their debut headline tour. Fronted by Liam’s youngest son Gene on vocals and guitar, the band will play at Night & Day in the Northern Quarter on Friday 22 November 2024.
Fatboy Slim at Depot Mayfield
The one and only Norman Cook – aka Fatboy Slim – returns to The Warehouse Project for the first time since New Year’s Eve 2021. The Praise You hitmaker will play at the Depot Mayfield venue on Friday 22 November 2024.
Black Stone Cherry at AO Arena
American rock band Black Stone Cherry have announced their return to the UK following the release of their eighth studio album Screamin’ At The Sky. The four piece from Kentucky will play arenas around the country, including a date at Manchester’s AO Arena on Friday 22 November.
Hits Radio Live at Co-op Live
The pop party of the year arrives in Manchester on Saturday 23 November. Hits Radio Live bring the good vibes and a star-studded line-up to Co-op Live, with artists including Perrie, Jax Jones, Rita Ora, KSI, Tom Grennan and Clean Bandit all already confirmed. The night will be hosted by Hits Radio presenters Fleur East and Gemma Atkinson.
Akemi Fox at Deaf Institute
One of the north’s most acclaimed alternative R&B artists, Akemi Fox brings her distinctive voice to Manchester’s Deaf Institute. Taking to the stage on Saturday 23 November, the show will support the release of her third EP ‘in the dark’ which came out in September.
Greatest Hits Radio Live at Co-op Live
Join Ken Bruce, Simon Mayo, Kate Thornton, Jenny Powell and the rest of the Greatest Hits Radio gang for an evening celebrating the best decades in music. Sing and dance along to hits from the 70s, 80s and 90s at their huge show at Co-op Live on Sunday 24 November. With plenty of acts yet to be announced, the line-up so far features 80s icon Martin Fry of ABC fame and Spandua Ballet’s own Martin Kemp, who will be behind the decks for an exclusive Back to the 80s DJ set.
Zayn Malik at O2 Apollo
Multi-platinum selling artist and former member of One Direction ZAYN has announced his first ever solo tour for later this year. Spanning the UK and US, in support of his latest album Room Under The Stairs, the Stairway To The Sky tour will stop off at Manchester’s O2 Apollo on 23 and 24 November and 4 December.
Kokoroko at New Century
London-based eight-piece Kokoroko bring their fusion of jazz and afrobeat to Manchester this November. Led by Sheila Maurice-Grey, the group lace together their influences and draw from the West African music they grew up with. Kokoroko play at New Century on Monday 25 November.
Childish Gambino at AO Arena
A modern day polymath, there’s not much Donald Glover can’t do. Act, sing, write, direct, produce; the man is bewilideringly skilled. Now back on his music tip, after helming the superb Mr & Mrs Smith series for Amazon Studios, he’s reassuming his Childish Gambino alias and heading out on his first world tour in five years. Following a string of US dates, he will land in the UK for six dates in November, including a show in Manchester. Known for hits including Redbone and the searing This Is America, he will play at the AO Arena on Tuesday 26 November 2024.
Charli XCX at Co-op Live
Global superstar and all-round pop icon Charli XCX has announced details of her 2024 UK arena tour, including a date in Manchester. Her biggest-ever headline shows in the UK, the singer-songwriter celebrates BRAT with a show at Co-op Live on Wednesday 27 November. Support will come from special guest Shygirl.
Fontaines D.C. at Aviva Studios
Grammy-nominated post-punk outfit Fontaines D.C. come to Manchester in support of their upcoming fourth album ROMANCE. The Dublin five-piece stop off at the Warehouse space at Aviva Studios on Friday 29 November.
The Script at Co-op Live
Irish rock band The Script return with their huge UK and Europe Satellites tour. The Hall of Fame hitmakers will play at Manchester’s Co-op Live on Saturday 30 November.
XXL at Warehouse Project
The flagship XXL event returns to Manchester for another edition of the largest indoor techno experience in the UK. Presented by Teletech and The Warehouse Project, XXL takes place at Depot Mayfield on Saturday 30 November. Pioneering the new-gen ravers in the UK and beyond, the 2024 edition is set to be another exceptional rave experience. The twelve-hour party takes over four stages with an unmatched line-up, featuring headliners including AZYR b2b Nico Moreno, I Hate Models, Samba Boys, Anetha b2b KI/KI, Clara Cuvè, and Klangkuenstler.
