Lost Cat opened their doors back in May, nestling nicely into the former Eat New York site on Oldham Street – the bar and restaurant concept sits across two floors and has an emphasis on ‘serious beers and silly cocktails’.
They’ve certainly made a big impact since then, creating a laid-back neighbourhood hang out space with a chilled-out daytime vibe, that seamlessly turns into a notoriously mischievous party venue by night. Throw in a splattering of live music and you’re all set.
More recently, the bar kickstarted their very own BOOZY BOTTOMLESS BRUNCH, which is available EVERY DAY until 4pm. £25 will bag you 90 minutes per person and a whole host of tasty treats, including; breakfast bagels, smashed avo and salmon lux.
When you enter the restaurant, empty stomached and ready to guzzle down as much food and booze as possible, you can grab yourself a seat, and (if choosing the boozy option) the team will drop off some hash browns or pancakes and some OJ to start things off.
Then for the next 90 minutes you’ll be treated to BOTTOMLESS FOOD & DRINKS to keep you going, and there’s a long list of cocktails and breakfast dishes to choose from.
Starting things off with the food, you can grab yourself a Breakfast Bagel featuring a sausage patty, smoked streaky bacon, folded egg with brown sauce or house ketchup on a butter toasted bagel.
There’s also a bagel option for the non-meat eaters, filled with a vegan sausage patty, scrambled tofu, and a hash brown with either brown sauce or house ketchup on a toasted bagel.
Then there’s the Bacon Lux, which includes smoked streaky bacon, scrambled egg, melted cheese and sriracha mayo, all sat beautifully on a freshly baked mini croissant. The Salmon Lux comes with smoked salmon, lemon creme fraiche, scrambled egg, dill and crispy capers.
Finally, what Northern Quarter brunch menu would be complete without a classic Smashed Avocado number? Lost Cat’s version smashed avocado comes with scrambled tofu, salsa, mozzarella, vegan bacon bits, all served on a warm tortilla.
The drinks menu consists of either a Mimosa, a pint of House Lager (Pilsner), a ‘Yuppue Stockbroker’ filled with vanilla vodka, passionfruit sorbet, lemon and fizz, as well as an ‘Italian Thug’ cocktail, featuring gin, watermelon syrup, Campari, vermouth and soda.
There’s also the classic Bloody Mary, a ‘Tito Flores’ fizz and gin based drink with cucumber, elderflower and citrus flavours, and, finally, a Garibaldi – Campari and OJ.
