Manchester’s newest live venue Co-op Live will open on 23 April, it’s been confirmed, with the first show being from Bolton’s very own Peter Kay.

The comedian will be the first act on the stage at what will be the UK’s biggest purpose-built indoor stadium.

Tickets for the show will go on pre-sale at 10am on 21 February and on general sale at 10am on 23 February.

Gary Roden, executive director and general manager at Co-op Live, said: “When you think of Manchester, it’s hard not to think of Peter Kay. He embodies what this city is about, and to have him headlining Co-op Live is tremendously exciting.

“We’re creating an arena that is truly part of the community around it, and having Peter as our opening act is a perfect reminder of that.”

Tickets will start at £35, going up to £150 for the VIP package seats, which will include a limited edition Peter Kay gift, tour programme, and a Peter Kay VIP laminate and lanyard.

Kay is currently on the road around the UK with his Better Late Than Never tour.

Co-op Live has been dropping show announcements since last year, with the likes of Olivia Rodrigo, Pet Shop Boys, Take That, Nicki Minaj, Liam Gallagher, The Killers and Slipknot among the stars set to appear.
