A brand-new club and live music venue, backed by some of the biggest names in electronic music, is set to open on Oxford Road this December. The best part? Entry is going to be just £5 to see some of the world’s biggest DJs.

Set across two rooms, Amber’s will be a place to “see famous bands, discover your next favourite DJ and lose yourself to your favourite band”.

Promising to compliment Manchester’s existing gigging and clubbing scene, Amber’s will be a space to showcase the best of emerging and already-emerged music. The live venue will have a state-of-the-art L-Acoustics sound system and a custom lighting spec, while the club space will have a music policy that “spans the entire underground electronic music spectrum”.

The concept of Saturdays at Amber’s is simple, every week the DJs will be unannounced, with artists playing under the radar and revealed after the event. All Saturday tickets will be £5 in advance.

Amber’s will welcome a range of local, national and international promoters across live shows and club nights to soundtrack the venue, working in collaboration with various venues and club brands in the city.

It will feature seasonal programming and events with Season One running from December 2024 to March 2025. The launch event on Thursday 5 December, and every Saturday in Season One, will have unannounced line-ups, featuring some of the world’s best DJs alongside up-and-coming selectors and world-class residents.

And the roster of industry figures behind the new concept gives a sense of the calibre of who those DJs might be. James Hutchins is a resident at London’s most iconic nightclub fabric, has a regular slot on Rinse FM and has worked as an editor at i-D Magazine. He’s teamed up with Nothing Forced agency, the design agency from Mixmag alumni Jeremy and Lawrence Abbott.

The club will have a no-photos policy, encouraging an ‘in the moment’ vibe for both club-goer and DJ. An in-house welfare team will also ensure the safety and security of attendees, promoting an overall inclusive and approachable feel to the space.

General sale tickets for Saturdays at Amber’s during December will go on sale Friday 1 November at 10am. Pre-sale access is also available, which allows people to buy tickets 24 hours earlier on Thursday 31 October at 10am.
