Located in Wellington House in Ancoats, Vision Barbers is a brand-new barber shop that’s slap bang in the middle of one of Ancoats’ most creative communities and is offering half price haircuts for Finest readers for the next TWO WEEKS.
No matter what you might have been told, some artists do actually favour a barber shop over cutting their hair themselves with a rusty pair of kitchen scissors, and long gone are the days of the Neil Pye-esque look of artists, especially when there’s a barber shop literally next door to your studio.
The historic textiles mill currently hosts a number artists, designers, printers, illustrators and more across its community driven 21 studios. Completing that line-up is Vision Barbers, who have become the go-to destination for anyone in the local area looking for a quick trim.
The business was set up by professional barber, Ben Duffy who wanted to take the plunge and set up his own company with a different approach to barbering, offering his clientele a laid back, safe space to reinvent themselves through the power of a simple haircut.
Ben has over 10 years of experience working in the sector and had a vision to open his very own space from a young age, hence the very fitting name of ‘Vision Barbers’, now that his dream has finally been made a reality.
Ben began cutting hair at the age of 15 when he left school and worked alongside other hairdressers cutting and colouring women’s hair. He then shifted to barbering and has subsequently won awards for his sleek style and unique approach to his craft, which has also garnered him his very own business at a young age.
Ben said: “I felt I was more swayed with the barbering side of hair and this experience gave me the skillset to understand the fundamentals of cutting all hair types long and short.
“I wanted to create a barber shop where the vibe was chilled and customers felt as though they could come in not only for a great haircut but somewhere they can relax and forget about everyday stress. Vision definitely provides that.”
Joined by good pals Sam and Luke, Vision Barbers provides a laid back experience with free beers and coffee for all in a friendly and welcoming environment. Haircuts start from £22, with skin fades, beard grooming and hot steam facials all on offer, too.
