Samrai & Platt of Swing Ting, the co-founding DJ’s behind the monthly Manchester club night of the same name, announced their debut album 100 Dances this week – with a special hometown launch party at Soup Kitchen, Manchester.

Their genre-blurring club night has garnered huge amounts of esteem since it’s humble beginnings – dropping Soundsystem wares from garage and grime through to dancehall, reggae & hip hop.

Established in 2008 and operating as a label since 2014 – the duo, along with their crew, have seamlessly defined a new era in Manchester’s club scene.

The release of their debut album, the first long-player produced entirely by Samrai & Platt, sees Swing Ting’s most definitive statement to date.

After running immense parties and producing tracks under the Swing Ting moniker for over a decade, their debut album sees 10 tracks from a number of regular collaborators plus some new faces.

Laying the foundations for their collaborators to come through – the eclectic, genre-blurring album has been influenced by the duo’s time spent as DJ’s, promoters and producers – drawing on the memoirs from the Swing Ting lifespan, with Manchester remaining the beating heart throughout the album.

“Dedicated to the staff, security and everybody who came to dance”.

100 Dances will release on Friday 13th March and sees HMD, EVABEE, Fox & [ K S R ] bring the soulful rhythms alongside club steppers from Lovescene and grimey ragga pressure from Trigga.

There’s a smoothed out cameo from RTKal and a bashment-tinged RnB bubbler from up-and-coming London native Thai-Chi Rosè.

Swing Ting’s Carribean connections are felt throughout, bursting through with a dancehall-ready link up with NYC’s Kiyano and ending on a high with Kingston’s Shanique Marie, of Equiknoxx fame.

You can listen to the first single from the island (Just a Feeling feat. HMD) here.
