The Blues Kitchen is launching ‘A Taste of Texas’—an eight-week long programme showcasing the culture of the Lone Star State. The event is a result of a unique partnership with Travel Texas, marking the first-ever collaboration between a UK hospitality venue and the Texas tourism board. The series will run 1 July – 31 August, 2023.

The Blues Kitchen will be offering an authentic experience of Texas right here in Manchester. To ensure the experience is genuine, partnerships have been established with prominent Texas eateries—Beto & Sons and Nitro Burgers.

Beto & Sons, lauded for their mastery of Tex-Mex cooking and recently taking home the title of ‘Best Dining Experience in Dallas’, have worked alongside The Blues Kitchen’s team to curate an exclusive taco menu – expect Texas Brisket Tacos and Beer Battered Salmon Tacos. Nitro Burgers has concocted a special ‘Big Texan Beef’ which is stacked with brisket, beef sausage, onion rings, cheddar cheese, pickled jalapeno salsa & a chipotle BBQ sauce burger.

Behind the bar, Julian Rodarte, a distinguished figure in the Texas food scene, has assembled a selection of special Margarita cocktail concoctions to complement the food. Rodarte, known for his innovative approach had his restaurant listed in “Zagat’s 30 under 30 Most Innovative Chefs in the U.S. in 2017”.

Accompanying the food offering, The Blues Kitchen has organised a musical programme echoing the sounds of Texas. With live performances from stalwart Texas musician Jarrod Dickenson, guests will be introduced to the musical heritage of the region known for its significant contribution to blues, jazz, country and Rock ‘n Roll. Additionally, the event schedule includes various art and cultural events as part of the comprehensive celebration of Texan culture.

Reflecting on the upcoming series, Liam Hart, Head Of Content at The Blues Kitchen, stated, ‘A Taste of Texas is our way of reciprocating the incredible hospitality we’ve experienced in Texas. It brings us great pleasure to offer our guests a chance to savour the unique Texan blend of music, food and drinks.’

To mark the occasion, The Blues Kitchen is also hosting a competition via their Instagram page, offering a fully inclusive holiday to Texas for two.
