Gareth, who was previously the head of bookings for the venue for a three-year period, helped guide the club to several prestigious awards including the Manchester Evening News’ ‘Best Venue Award’ for two years, the coveted ‘Best Club’ award for DesignMyNight and was nominated in the ‘Best Club’ category for the DJ Mag Awards.

As for Gareth’s first club night Micron, which this year celebrates its 12th birthday, it was hosted every month for five years at Joshua Brooks, with the club welcoming Manchester debuts for the likes of Heidi and Ben Klock.  Other clubs under Gareth’s wing during his time at Joshua Brooks, such as IDiOSYNC welcomed not just Manchester, but UK debuts for the likes of Maceo Plex, Tale of Us and Aquarius Heaven.

Gareth, who is currently a Business Development Manager for Skiddle, said: “Going back to Manchester and specifically to Joshua Brooks as a managing director is a dream come true.

“Having put on parties across Manchester and further afield, I’ve always loved the venue and so to be able to really shape the club moving forward is a fantastic opportunity.

“With Micron going from strength to strength and Lost in Music really beginning to take off, I’ll naturally be looking to bring the three brands together, with the first party that I have been heavily involved in being a Manchester debut for Get Down Edits at our next Lost in Music party on Saturday 24 March.”

With the addition of Gareth to the team at Joshua Brooks, the venue will also shortly revert to its original moniker of Joshua Brooks (opting to drop the Versions title from the club’s name) and will also see the club once again revert to being a multi-purpose venue, with concerts and art installations being welcomed in addition to its traditional club and bar status.

Gareth continued: “Manchester is changing and its vital for venues across the city to move with the times, we want Joshua Brooks to be seen as a multi-purpose entertainment venue. Very much retaining its status as a leading club night, but also welcoming new and unique events, which will include a series of parties for the 10th anniversary of Data Transmission.”
