It all starts with the incredible aroma of oak smoked chips from the Josper Grill, add to it the cutlery clatter and chef and diner chatter of counter top dining.
Mix it with a quiet pop and exquisite fizzle of a chilled bottle of bubbly. That is Smoak.
The Bar
Mr East … concocting the cocktails as only he can. Some call it mixology. To him it’s a performance.
Find him in Malmaison Manchester and get a ring-side seat for some liquid theatre. He reads your drink from your mind … a dirty martini … well you must have a dirty mind. But as the Mister East would say … there’s no night-time without his mojito and there’s no Smoak with Mister East.
The Grill
Mr Sharp, uncompromising in the pursuit of perfection … yes … a pussy cat in the kitchen … perhaps not.
He shows up at Malmaison in Manchester with his Josper Grill – no nonsense. Down to business. But he has a softer side too. A deep rooted respect for the local food hero. So you can be sure there’s no steak without local produce and of course there is no Smoak without Mr Sharp.
