It’s been a rollercoaster 8 years since Claudio & Emily opened up the first Federal in the Northern Quarter. 8 years that have included opening a brand-new spot over on Deansgate, a venture into Altrincham and lots and lots of queues on a weekend.
It seems like the ride is set to continue as plans for a 3rd Federal site in the city centre have been lodged with the council, this time over the brand-new Oxford Road development – Circle Square.
Federal on Deansgate
Housed on the site of the old BBC building and home to the city centre’s newest public square and park, Circle Square has been filling up rather nicely recently, with the opening of Hello Oriental, Bird of Prey, Tsujiri, Canvas and Tahi Eatery, plus upcoming additions including a tap room bar from North Brewery and Italian specialities from Mattarello.
Federal is a great got for the Circle Square development and should help bring in the crowds to the area. From the licence application online, it looks like the new spot will be located in Building 2 – right on Oxford Road next to the Manchester Technology Centre.
