City centre favourite Hello Oriental is to open up a new branch at the Trafford Centre.
The new food hall will be in the Upper Orient area of the Traff, and is set to open its doors in October.
It’s the first spin-off branch since co-founders Ricky Yip and Azim Kourah launched their original pan-Asian concept at Circle Square in February, 2022.
“We’re so excited to open in the Trafford Centre and give shoppers the chance to try our dishes from across East Asia. Many of the dishes on the menu were enjoyed by Azim and I growing up, cooked by my family, or served in family restaurants,” said Ricky.
“It’s wonderful to see other families come to Hello Oriental to enjoy these flavours.”
The look of the new venue is still being developed, but Ricky added that ‘we’re planning to stay true to the industrial edgy look [of the flagship], using neon and other fun accents, that we know our customers love’.
The new food hall will boast 100 new dishes on the menu, from across East Asia, ranging from dim sum to noodles to Cantonese roast meats.
Korean Fried Chicken, Loaded Katsu Chicken Fries, three varieties of sticky chicken wings, beef ho fun and Taiwanese pork belly rice will also be among the launch dishes.
Meanwhile, there will be a full kids menu, featuring options like prawn won-tons or a Vietnamese Chicken Pho ‘suited to the more adventurous junior palate’, alongside crispy chicken karaage and Salt & Pepper chicken nuggets.
Simon Layton, centre director at Trafford Centre, added: “The arrival of Hello Oriental is part of a wider commitment to champion local, Manchester food talent.
“With an exciting food and beverage offering, Hello Oriental is a delicious addition to our ever-growing dining hub, and we look forward to welcoming them to the centre later this year.”
