Japanese pop-up Etana has found a new home – at Deansgate bar and distillery Three Little Words.

Serving dishes in the casual ‘izakaya’ style, the residency is a project from chef Paolo Bianchi, and will be serving up contemporary Japanese dishes making high-grade fish and meat ‘accessible to everyone’.

Bianchi and Etana co-founder Steph Powell previously worked out of one of the kitchens at Exhibition, and created a viral buzz around their cooking.

Before launching the pop-up, Bianchi worked in some seriously high-end kitchens for the likes of Alain Ducasse, Jean-Georges Vongerichten and Gordon Ramsay, as well as restaurants like Zuma in Mayfair.

“We are thrilled to bring Etana to Three Little Words,” said Steph and Paolo.

“This partnership is a perfect blend of our passions, offering an innovative dining experience that celebrates the art of socialising, eating, and drinking, within the most beautifully sophisticated setting.”

“Collaborating with Etana allows us to elevate our culinary offering and provide our guests with a truly exceptional experience,” said Seb Heeley and Jen Wiggins, founders of Three Little Words and The Spirit of Manchester Distillery.

“We can’t wait to share this exciting new chapter with everyone.”

The residency will start on 17 July, opening from Wednesday to Sunday every week, for both lunch and dinner.

As well as the a la carte menu, Three Little Words, which is also behind the Manchester Gin imprint, will be devising pairing cocktails.
