Just in case you needed any further encouragement to help out fellow Mancs this Christmas, here comes The Jane Eyre.
The Ancoats bar and kitchen will be collecting vital supplies for the Manchester Central Food Bank in the run up to the festive period.
But best of all, if you take in your donations, you’ll be able to swap them for a free pint on the house to say thanks for your generosity.
The Food bank is particularly requesting tinned fish, UHT milk, coffee, shower gel, soap, tinned fruit and tinned vegetables.
Donations will be collected by staff members and then delivered to Manchester Central, who separate the items and make up packages of food for three days’ worth of balanced meals.
Anyone planning to head over with donations should note that all items need to be sealed as opened items of food or toiletries can’t be accepted.
The bar will also be running an ‘advent calendar’ of giveaways to punters too, from 1 to 21 December, with prizes including cocktails, bar snacks, bottles of wine, a Sunday side or cash vouchers to be redeemed on-site.
Top prize is a complimentary meal and drinks for a table of four.
