Manchester’s dining and leisure destination, Great Northern Warehouse has welcomed its latest arrival on Deansgate Mews, brunch café, Açai & The Tribe.
Relocating from its original pop-up shop location inside the Arndale Market, the popular açai and breakfast spot is relaunching with a new ‘build your own bowl’ menu.
Established in 2021, Manchester’s first-of-a-kind açai hotspot brings the exotic berry to Deansgate with filled breakfast bowls and nutritious treats that are primarily vegan and gluten-free friendly.
Following customer demand, Açai & The Tribe’s newest breakfast option is the fully customisable açai bowl, where customers can now personalise the açai base, selecting from regular or cacao açai, vanilla or cacao sea salt granola (homemade, toasted and baked by owner Alisha Oswell) and toppings including fruit, superfoods and nut butters.
The new breakfast spot, located on Deansgate Mews, also stocks a variety of sit-in or takeaway brunch items, including PB & J toast with peanut butter, tribe chia raspberry jam, sliced banana and chia seeds on sourdough toast, and banana & dark chocolate loaf topped with peanut butter, banana slices, cinnamon, cacao nibs and agave.
The new menu also offers customisable porridge bowls, where customers can choose their preferred oats, milk and toppings.
The brand’s eight signature açai bowls still remain on the menu, including the tribe and Cali bowls, made in 60 seconds, to grab-and-go, as well as the popular pink tribe smoothie, amongst nine other fruity options.
Now located on Deansgate Mews, Açai & The Tribe offers indoor seating, as well as the grab-and-go kiosk – with outdoor seating planned for the summer months.
Alisha Oswell said: “Açai is a tropical berry that’s high in nutrients and loaded with antioxidants, making it a fantastic breakfast choice to leave you refreshed and keep you functioning all day.
“Açai is incredibly expensive and hard to find in the UK, so we are sourcing our açai directly from the Brazilian rainforest in a mission to make this delicious berry more accessible in Manchester.
“We also bake our own granola, to keep the final cost down for our customers.
“I love the idea of being surrounded by other independent businesses and like-minded individuals, so the move to Deansgate Mews at Great Northern Warehouse felt like a perfect fit.
“We were inundated with requests for build your own bowls at our previous location, now that we have the space to offer this option, I’m certain that açai bowls will take the city by storm.”
Mark Schofield, Centre Director of Great Northern Warehouse, said: “Açai & The Tribe brings a completely new and innovative breakfast experience to Great Northern Warehouse. We’re very excited to see what Alisha’s latest endeavour has in store.”
Acai & The Tribe at Great Northern Warehouse is open 09:00 – 16:00 every Monday – Saturday, and 10:00 – 16:00 every Sunday. Food items range from £5.95 – £9.50 and can also be ordered via Deliveroo.
