Back in January we heard about the return of Slice to the city, the Stevenson Square favourites who have been sadly missing from the pizza scene for a couple of years.
Seemingly just disappearing over night, the NQ staple was a the perfect place for a slice of freshly baked Roma pizza and focaccia, sandwiches, salads, mains and even homemade gelato. Every visit to Slice was like stepping into a pizzeria in Italy, complete with a fully stocked bar at the back that was one of the best places in the city to have a Campari & Soda and relax.
Well, they’re BACK! This week saw them open up in the old newsagents kiosk right in the entrance to Oxford Road Train Station, and we couldn’t be happier!
Owner Matt McGuirk is back to his old tricks, he’s fired up his massive ovens, kneaded his dough and will be serving a selection of up to 6 different slices each day, alongside real Italian coffee, pastries and loads more.
You’ll be pleased to hear that the legendary Broccoli, Chilli & Sausage Slice (£4.90) is back, as well as a host of new additions, such as the Chorizo, Tomato and Mixed Peppers (£4.90) and a Potato, Mozzarella and White Truffle (£4.60). The offering changes every day, so keep an eye on their socials, or just pop down to see what’s on.
It’s great to see them back and I feel the location will be very lucrative for them – I mean, if my train is in 10 minutes, I’m definitely going to grab a slice while I wait, and I think you would too!
Slice is now open every day, 11am – 10pm.
