With summer mere touching distance away and t-shirt weather calling, city centre neighbourhood Kampus has announced two brand-new but familiar bars set to pop up at the venue across the warmer months.
Both homegrown Manchester independents, SEVEN BRO7HERS and Three Little Words will join Nell’s Pizza, The Beeswing, Great North Pie Co, Yum Cha and more as Kampus extends its beer garden for summer.
Launching across Easter weekend, chairs will nestle in-between plants and shrubbery as the sun beats down on the alfresco space. Guests will get the chance to enjoy the splendour of spring through a line-up of DJs who will take over Nell’s, as well as craft beer and cocktails from Kampus’ exisiting bars and the two new summer pop ups.
First up, Manchester brewery SEVEN BRO7HERS will take over the red-bricked Minshull Warehouse. With both indoor and outdoor seating for warmer days, the brewery will serve up a range of its most popular pours, as well some special beers for the residency.
Pulling out all of the stops for the Kampus Easter Weekender, SEVEN BRO7HERS has planned a series of live acoustic sets and music from funk and soul DJs that will no doubt bring the party to the brand’s new venture. The bar then opens Thursday – Sunday every week throughout summer.

Our Kampus run is a fitting celebration for how far the brewery has come with the incredible support of every person who’s ever enjoyed a SEVEN BRO7HERS pint. We’ll be in good company with our brilliant independent neighbours and we encourage everyone to come and spend summer with us.”
Joining SEVEN BRO7HERS is Manchester Gin’s city-centre cocktail bar Three Little Words. Launched back in 2019, Three Little Words is known and loved for its creative cocktails and gold accented bar and distillery tucked away in a Grade II listed railway arch just behind Manchester Central.
Now, the venue is bringing a bit of glam to the Kampus bungalow on stilts that sits at the centre of the neighbourhood. Guests can sip on canal-side cocktails that include local spirits from Manchester Gin, One-Eyed Rebel Spiced Rum and Sphere Vodka. Three Little Words will also launch a programme of rotating events that’ll take place across summer, including an “unconventional” garden spritz bar.
Seb Heeley-Wiggins, master distiller and co-owner of The Spirit of Manchester Distillery and Three Little Words, said: “We’ve got such a loyal following and we’ve been on the hunt for a spot where people could enjoy our cocktails in a beautiful outdoor setting. Kampus absolutely fits that bill and will be an incredible summer posting for our team. We’ll be bringing our signature menu as well as some seasonal creations unique to Kampus.”
Three Little Words will open Wednesday to Sunday every week throughout summer, as well as Bank Holiday Mondays and days when good weather is forecast.
Summer 2023 marks an exciting time for Kampus as the neighbourhood welcomes its first full programme of entertainment since opening. Also joining the new bars and Easter weekend fun is the Little David Street LGTBQ+ cocktail den, Red Light, set to announce its Kampus opening date in the coming weeks. Liverpool-born taqueria and mezcaleria Madre is also currently fitting out a Kampus space ready to bring its take on Mexican cuisine to Manchester.
Adam Higgins, co-founder of Capital&Centric, said: “We’ve assembled a pretty incredible line-up for the first proper summer at Kampus, where we’ll have nine indie food and drink businesses all based within and around the Kampus garden. There’ll be a real festival vibe, with people able to hop from place to place and try what’s on offer, or sit in the garden and let it come to them.
“As well as the permanent names and the summer-long residencies, there’ll also be loads of pop-ups, events, DJs, live music and parties throughout the spring and summer. We’ve got the best beer garden in Manchester at Kampus and, with this line-up, you can guarantee that whether it’s a sun-soaked day or more familiar Manchester rain, punters will have a good time when they head down.”
