Remember last year? Every time we wanted to have an alcoholic drink we were forced to buy a ‘substantial meal’ – how crazy was that?!
By early December everyone was worrying about Christmas – wondering if we could have friends and family around on the big day, but also completely in the dark when it came to those all important Christmas parties.
It was great at times though, as many of the city’s independent restaurants really stepped up – offering up some brilliant ‘AT HOME’ boxes – which, in many cases, really did save Christmas for many.
This year, Indian restaurant Zouk have introduced ALTERNATIVE CHRISTMAS DINNER BOXES bringing a spicy twist to the traditional Chrimbo Din Dins – feeding up to 8 very hungry people.
They’ve got two options available…
THE TURKEY CHRISTMAS BOX (£99)
The Zouk Turkey box comes with a fully prepared ready to roast 4.5kg turkey. Smothered in the chef’s magical marinade, this tasty bird won’t dry out when being cooked and serves 6-8 people with juicy and flavoursome spiced infused meat. Also in the box you will find potatoes, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, gravy, chilli oil and spiced butter.
SPICED LEG OF LAMB CHRISTMAS BOX (£110)
Roasted Lamb Raan is a traditional centrepiece at special occasions on the Indian sub-continent. If you have ever tasted Zouk’s special roasted lamb it is easy to see why. The Zouk chefs have prepped the lamb perfectly, so it is ready to place in a hot oven where the marinade will do all the hard work infusing each tender bite with fabulous flavour. Each Lamb Christmas Dinner Box comes with a 5-6kg leg of lamb that will happily serve 6-8 hungry diners. Also in the box you will find potatoes, parsnips, carrots, sprouts, gravy, chilli oil and spiced butter.
As always Zouk has a few little tricks to raise your turkey or lamb game to the next level in terms of flavour with their MAGIC JARS. In each box you’ll get 3 jars, with the first one filled to the brim with Zouk’s famous spicy gravy, perfect for any roast.
Second is Zouk’s Chilli Oil for roasting the perfect potatoes. A drizzle of this transforms the humble spud to a plateful of bliss and it is also fabulous on parsnips too for a sensational blend of sweetness and spice.
Finally, is Zouk’s Spiced Butter. Sprouts may be a divisive veg in many a household but once they have been sautéed in this little treat for the taste buds, even the doubters will find them hard to resist. The butter is also excellent for livening up carrots or adding a tasty glaze to any extra accompaniments or Boxing Day Leftovers, should you have any!
