There’s an arcade machine in NQ64 that I always gravitate to when I’m in there – usually in the hope that I’ll beat it for once and not look like a complete noob. That game is The Simpsons and it’s equally brilliant and hard.
I don’t just spend 4 hours on The Simpsons though. After about 3 minutes I’m dead and I move on – and there’s PLENTY more machines to choose from. There’s Guitar Hero, OutRun, Point Blanc, X-Men (6 player!), Street Fighter II, Star Wars Arcade, Donkey Kong – hell, they’ve even got a SNES, Mega Drive and a Nintendo 64 to mess about with.
As I’m sure many of you know, they’ve got LOADS of old machines here – enough to keep you entertained for days on end. While you’re playing along, they also provide a dead good list of COCKTAILS in which to sup – many of which have been inspired by the very games that you’re on.
There’s the mighty ‘Blanka‘ which is loaded with tequila, midori, cucumber, lemon, apple and agave, the super-strong ‘Mad Max‘ with house rum, grapefruit, absinthe and lime and not forgetting the ‘Princess Peach‘ which is bubbly and fruity – much like the woman herself.
In light of COVID-19 guidelines, NQ64 have a range of safety measures going on including a limited capacity, order and collect points for drinks and tokens, and improved cleaning and sanitising throughout.
