Flower displays, garden blooms and eye-catching shrubbery will once again line the streets of the city in celebration of The Manchester Flower Show 2022.
Taking place from the 2nd – 5th June, coinciding with the Queen’s Jubilee weekend, the show will be an exciting affair, with shop windows, squares, streets and even statues going green for the royal celebrations!
As you wind your way around the streets, you’ll stumble across 10 professionally designed displays ready to be marvelled at as they pay a beautifully scented tribute to the queen’s 70 years of service.
Starting off at Manchester Arndale, the Queen Bee arrangement will feature an upcycled bee from the Wild In Art bee trail, covering it in artificial flowers with a real floral crown designed by Northern Quarter florist, FROG.
Then, as you step outside onto New Cathedral street, the Queen of Pop awaits, bringing a striking, 70s flower power arrangement with planters and wheelbarrows overflowing with summer flowers, from cheery sunflowers to the more regal hydrangea.
St Ann’s Square will host The Crown Jewels this year, featuring flowers that mimic the jewels at the heart of the British monarchy, and King Street will transform into the Jubilee Kiosk, which will see a traditional red telephone box full of gorgeously bright florals.
As always, this year’s flower show is free and open to the public. There’ll also be a manner of floral displays in keeping with this year’s theme in windows, doorways, planters, shops and more – providing a slice of summer.
NOMA, The Science and Industry Museum, First Street and The Great Northern Warehouse are also a handful of the places hosting the show’s fringe displays, which will be available to view all week long, too!
Coinciding with the show, bars and restaurants across the city will host al fresco dinners and craft regal, floral inspired cocktails in celebration of the event. Keep your eye on The Manchester Flower Show’s Instagram for further details on what’s taking place across the weekend.
