The 2014 World Cup kicks off in style at the ITV Fever Pitch Fan Park. Manchester’s number one fixture to watch all the world cup matches this summer!

Thursday evening saw the first screening of the opening match of the 2014 World Cup in Brazil at the ITV Fever Pitch Fan Park – a Brazilian style beach soccer stadium with two giant screens including a 40 square metre one as the focal point. To celebrate the World Cup in Brazil every single match will be broadcast live, up to and including the final on the 13th July, 2014 and that’s not all… Throughout the group stages there will be international beach soccer matches played between the world’s best teams and Brazilian style Samba dancers will be performing for the full duration of the competition. With pop up bars and Brazilian style food stalls selling food and drink at reasonable prices, along with a high tempo zone to test your skills and increase your heart rate further, this is an exhilarating day out for all.

After the pre match entertainment not only can you watch the football from the stands but spectators can pull out a deck chair and watch the games on the sand as if you were actually in Brazil. The fact that you can watch the big screen from an actual stand with hundreds of others gives you the feeling you are actually at a match and creates an atmosphere not possible anywhere else (unless you were actually there). The excitement and carnival style feeling of Brazil is created along with the excitement, anticipation and tension of watching the beach soccer and world cup matches. This was evident in the final moments of the beach soccer match between England and Italy and when Brazil were awarded a controversial penalty in their match with Croatia on the opening night of the fan park.

ITV Fever Pitch is located in the car park of the old Granada Studios. Entry is on Quay Street in central Manchester.
