Every year, The Pink Picnic is held to celebrate Salford’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Non-Binary community.
Back for 2022, the pride celebration will take place on Saturday 25th June from 1pm – 8pm. Tickets are free, but there is an option to add a donation when purchasing.
You can expect a yet-to-be-announced line-up of some amazing artists and musicians, as well as community stalls promoting local groups, organisations and charities.
There’ll also be activities and entertainment for families, children, and LGBT+ youth, funfair rides, a bar tent, food and drink vendors and much more.
In previous years, The Pink Picnic has hosted big names such as RuPaul Drag Race’s Cheryl Hole, Booty Luv & Big Brovaz, Stooshe, The Cheeky Girls, Eurovision’s SuRie, Union J and local legend, Cheddar Gorgeous. This year will be no different with a jam-packed line-up of talent.
The Pink Picnic is also offering its PinkPLUS VIP experience, an exclusive area for Pride-goers looking for a little extra.
For £25 (£10 for children) you’ll get access to the private PinkPLUS area with toilets and a private bar, two free drinks and food, a goody bag filled with exciting extras and the opportunity to meet some of the headline artists.
After a tremendous 2021 event, the return of Pink Picnic is music to the ears of all who have attended in the past.
The celebration is Salford Pride’s main project, launched in 2011. The event was established with the support of Salix Homes, working in collaboration with their customer LGBT+ focus group.
Its mission is to work to build a stronger, diverse community that celebrates inclusion and equality – where LGBTQ+ people are represented, thrive and live authentically, in the city and beyond.
Now in its eleventh year it hopes to make the event even more special, building on the work already done with the local community to promote LGBTQ+ inclusion across the region!
The Pink Picnic builds community cohesion, strengthens the communities it serves and encourages social interaction, by bringing people together no matter their background or how they identify, to celebrate equality, diversity and inclusion in Salford and beyond.
