Online retailer OBJECT will be opening its doors on Thursday 15th September at its first physical store, 519 Barlow Moor Road, Chorlton.
The new, multi-concept shop will combine an unique collection of menswear, womenswear, interi-ors and specialist media , hand-sourced from UK, Europe and the US. The space will also hold evening workshops in the evenings including ring making, macrame and visual story-telling to name but a few.
With a strong focus on season-less and transitional clothing, think every-wear for every-day, OB-JECT will carry a carefully chosen range of classic and simplistic styles for men and women.
Working with household names such as Baracuta and Paraboots, OBJECT Man will also be launching its very own shirting brand, Otterwell, that will be exclusive to the new store only. OB-JECT will also be the first UK store to showcase Portland based knitwear, Derhan and first Man-chester store to stock casual footwear brand, The Wild Bunch.
Meanwhile, OBJECT Woman will present a farm-to-fashion organic linen range, grown, designed and manufactured on a family run farm, based in Lithuania. With a distinct passion for artisan de-sign, the select store will showcase hand-crafted jewellery by makers from Ohio and Tel Avi as well as a line of unisex rucksacks designed and made in Warsaw.
Many of the homewares have been sourced from Denmark and will include ceramics, tableware and print. Closer to home, OBJECT enthuses at being the first Northern stockist of British textile designer, Eleanor Pritchard and her iconic hand-woven blankets. Future plans to curate a small, ever-changing collection of original mid-century ornaments and vintage design classics including Angelpoise, Ercol and Conran are also underway!

Adopting a hands-on approach to their buying strategy, co-owners husband and wife, Alex and Rachael Otterwell have hand-picked every item in the store. The co-founders stated:
‘We purposely avoid large trade shows, preferring to seek out the brands we want to work with in-dependently. Where possible we try to travel to see each designers collection in person and only choose pieces we would wear ourselves or have in our home’.
For their opening event on Thursday 15th September, OBJECT is teaming up with Trove bakery and Big Hug Brewery who will be providing in store complimentary nibbles and tipples from 6pm – 8pm.
