The full line-up for the 2024 Green Festival has been revealed, with sets from a host of DJs, live acts and food vendors pitching up to the boutique festival.
Taking place over three separate days in June, July and September, bands from as far afield as Senegal, Brazil, Morocco and the Caribbean will be descending on the idyllic Hulme Garden Centre as well as the NIAMOS centre next door and Charles Street venue YES for the afterparties.
Sets on the main stage will come from the likes of Afriquoi alongside David Walters, Ku’umba, 21st century jazz singer Ni Maxine and Ubunye the Zulu, DefMamaDef, Victoria Jane, Lovescene and Plant Food.
On the Bandstand stage will be DIY masters and music experimentalists FAT OUT, with Fat Clams DJ, Lavender Rodriguez, Queer Icons Karaoke, Meme Gold, Arch Femesis and R.aggs, and Chunky turning up in July, with Artist Lebo, Chia Kali, DeeD0t, NOT4MANY, Zhay and Troopz.
Ruf Dug’s Ruffy’s Lab will pitch up for the September date, bringing on board sets from Tia Cousins, Abigail Ward and Private Joy, mixing up everything from electronica, R&B, house, synth pop and broken beats.
The Marquee stage will host bossa nova from Brazil courtesy of Pedro Fonte & Dada Joaozinho, alongside Benita & The Groove, neo-soul artist NinaRosa, jazz band Mangorata and flamboyant jazz-punk from Ask My Bull.
The new Selector stage will be curated by Andy Votel using an audiophile soundsystem featuring sets from Stan Chow, Helene Gautier, Sean Demdike, Lee Janda, Apricot Ballroom x Cosmic Slop, Lena C’s Melodic Junction, Cheb Mimo, Santa Leticia and Josh FB.
Then on the hidden Forest Stage, Una Lee, Nossa!, Supernature Disco, Dr. Jive and Murder He Wrote, Reno Collective, Tim Knight, Yohan, Levi Love, Urbi, Contours, Rhod Parry, Zuri b2b Spinelli, Jade Li, Atiké and Shimrise will be on selection duties.
Meanwhile, Warwick Street, between the garden centre and NIAMOS, will be closed off and turned into the festival’s food and drinks hub, with gyoza from Midori, Tibetan Kitchen and Root to Flower.
Among those who’ll be taking control at Pink Room and basement at YES will be the legendary Zed Bias, Me Gusta, Rinse FM resident Arthi and Stells Selection.
Green Island happens on 15 June, 27 July and 7 September. Tickets starting at £20 are on sale now.
