Tahj Malik Chandler, better known by his stage name Saba, is an American rapper and record producer.
He grew up in the Austin neighbourhood of the West Side of Chicago. In April 2013 Saba gained recognition with his verse on Chance the Rapper’s mixtape Acid Rap, in the song “Everybody’s Something”.
Saba began his career collaborating with the city’s golden boy, Chance the Rapper, but he used that moment as a springboard for his own prodigious talents.
He released his debut mixtape, GETCOMFORTable, in 2012, and several others followed—notably 2016’s Bucket List Project, which laced his quickfire, topical lyricism with jazz-inflected beats. Whether spouting off about his accomplishments or delivering a withering one-liner, Saba is always looking to mix things up.
