A one day, free festival, bringing you a heady mix of the best beer ‘n blues, indulging a time-worn partnership!
Sponsored by Asahi Super Dry Beer this SpinFest will be an opportunity to see out the Summer in style, enabling you to kick-back and relax to the irresistible sounds of BB King and Cream, Johnny Cash and Willie Dixon in the cool surrounds of The Oast House in Spinningfields.
Whether you’re a lover of true blues or just want to unwind, there’s something for everyone to enjoy. From the stage in the spacious, partially covered Courtyard, Terry Butters and Chris Newman will start the session with their inimitable smooth slide guitar sounds playing hits by Fats Domino and Ray Charles.
Groove-based trio, We Three Kings, will serve the sounds of BB and Freddie King or, if you like it funky, relish flavours of the deep-south with blues-funk outfit, Fuschi4.
N’Awlins Night Creatures, complete with rich brass section, will also be playing slow dances and jives by Dr John and Chuck Berry as the sun heads home for the day.
The back-drop of The Oast House, which boasts the city’s largest outdoor BBQ, will mean you can tuck into their infamous grills or a range of summery specials amidst the great atmosphere for which Spinfest has become known. A range of ales from Cumbrian Legendary Ales, Phoenix Brewery, Thornbridge Brewery and The Red Willow Brewery along with Asahi Super Dry have been handpicked to complement the late summer vibes.
Just minutes walk from all the city’s main transport hubs, getting to Spinningfields couldn’t be easier. Good times (and hopefully sunshine!) are guaranteed, so come down and melt into the groove!
