What’s happening?
On 22nd June, Blank Media Collective host a spectacular, hula-themed Summer Shangri-La extravaganza to raise funds for its ambitious and much anticipated equals summer project.
In order to help fund an exhibition and events programme, the evening is set to provide guests with a taste of summer with tropical cocktails and snacks, prize giveaways and limbo on the specially created indoor beach.
Proceedings begin at 5pm with a curated preview screening of the latest BMC.TV (Blank Media Collective’s web-based video channel) episode, which on this occasion focuses on feminism in art film, in line with the equals project.
The evening then takes a musical turn as The Vault takes to the decks for a summertime spin through the decades with a heady mix of the best female music in history from girl groups to post punk.
Topping the bill, Cord Bar and Homoelectric residents Trash-O-Rama are guaranteed to bring the party to a climax with their unique playlists, consisting of house, homodisco, acid, electroclash, postpunk, queerbeat, garage and nudisco.

Blank Media Collective are extremely excited to announce Arts Council funding for our fantastic summer project – equals: exploring feminism through art & conversation.
equals is a Blank Media Collective curatorial project with the main objective to open up and inspire ideas and debate about feminism through art and analysis, creativity and conversation. The project will launch on the 11th July at BLANKSPACE with an exhibition which will run until 4th August 2013. In conjunction with this there will be a responsive publication and live event, a blog, radio show, speed debate symposium and further events programme.
Kickstarter
Alongside the Summer Fundraiser, Blank Media Collective are also pleased to launch their very first crowd funding programme via Kickstarter.
The Kickstarter project aims to fund the publication of 300 printed copies of an equals book that includes original art, writing and words that explore feminism today.
A number of exclusive items such as signed books and limited edition art work are available in return for donations to help fund the publication. With a number of donations already received, Blank Media Collective are hopeful of reaching their goal before the deadline on 23rd June 2013.
