A new sushi-to-go kiosk is to open in The Trafford Centre this month. Rolled is set to bring an ‘innovative, fast-casual’ approach to sushi, offering shoppers a fresh new option for lunch.

Inspired by the craft and quality of the Aussie food scene, they’ll specialise in hand rolls, one of the most popular styles of sushi consumed in Australia.

Invented in Melbourne in the 1990s, and popularised in the 2000s, hand rolls differ from the maki rolls you might have experienced in sushi restaurants because they are left whole, rather than cut into bite size pieces. This makes them perfect for casual, on-the-go dining.

Rolled founder Adam Miller and his team aim to introduce Manchester to this convenient hand-held format, drawing inspiration from popular recipes in Australia. Expect rolls including the spicy tuna, crispy chicken, salmon smashed avo and the Bondi roll; an Aussie breakfast in a roll.

Adam says: “Aussies are obsessed with this type of sushi. It’s not unusual to consume hand-rolls multiple times a week, so I’m excited to introduce it to Manchester where I believe it will be just as popular”.

You can follow developments ahead of Rolled opening over on Instagram.
