NEW OPENING: Inner West
Inner West is a brand-new Sydney-inspired café and brunch spot that has recently opened in The Filaments in Salford. The new space serves a deli menu of sourdough and wholemeal toasties, sausage rolls, vegan quesadillas, brioche, sandwiches, toasties, pastries and cakes, pies, baked goods, and deli food. It’s gorgeously cosy, and a perfect Sunday stop off, or, for an early morning caffeine hit!

Celebrate the week of Burns Night with a night of Benriach Scotch Whisky this Thursday. Seven Bro7hers Vegan Beer & Food Pairing

A Vegan Beer and Food pairing menu created by Seven Bro7hers in collaboration with vegan food supplier – Bhaji Pala, is taking place at the brewery’s taproom this Saturday. Bhaji Pala, which roughly translates into ‘green veggies and herbs’, is a 100% vegan restaurant bringing the complex arrays of tastes, textures and ingredients that have been central to the western Indian Kitchen for centuries to Manchester.
Your qualified hosts will talk you through five 1/3rds of freshly brewed craft beer which will then be paired beautifully with five tasty vegan small plates! Sure to be a fantastic evening, you will learn how the beer is made, stories behind each taste and why it was decided to pair the respective products together. Tickets are £25pp.

One of Ducie Street Warehouse’s pals, Talitha presents a month of bi-weekly Sound Healing Classes for residents and Manchester locals alike – making use of the beautiful acoustics of Ducie Street’s Mini-Cini. Sound healing instruments generate sound waves that can help release physical and mental tension. The experience can be both activating and relaxing – helping to improve sleep, aid muscle recovery and low stress levels and anxiety.
Comedy For Hot People at The Fitzgerald

Danny McLoughlin will host this comedy event in the heart of the Northern Quarter. The comedian has been making a name for himself across the circuit, as well as a respected up-and-coming talent and club MC. He will be joined by Eryn Tett an alternative comedian based in Manchester, described as “fast moving…and absurd”, along with Ben Silver, who’s comedy style is coloured with silly, absurd and ironic stories and Harry Stachini, an exciting young comedian with an impressive easy-going style.
Louder at Feel Good Club
Thursday 27th January
This Thursday Feel Good Club will host an acoustic evening celebrating the north’s female and LGBTQ+ musicians. The line-up this week consists of Anna Kathryn Lynch, a Manchester-based singer/songwriter with beautifully soulful vocals, Flowers of Evil, a three-piece merging theatrics with romantic synth balladry and toe-tapping pop, and Internet Raised, a fresh, excitable indie-pop duo.
Boy Harsher Screening at Chapeltown Picture House
Friday 28th January
Grey Lantern and Above the Line will present Boy Harsher’s ‘The Runner’ film screening this Friday. Boy Harsher’s fifth release is not a traditional album — it’s the musical counterpart to a short film written, produced, and directed by the duo, entitled The Runner, which has been released alongside the album. The Runner is a horror film intercut with a meta-style “documentary” about Boy Harsher’s recording process. The soundtrack balances cinematic instrumentals with pop songs that push the boundaries of Boy Harsher’s sound.

Manchester Open at HOME
Monday 24th January – Sunday 27th March
Starting today, Manchester Open is back at HOME, showcasing the work of over 400 local artists selected by a panel consisting of art experts and community representatives. With an amazing 2,271 artwork entries, the judging panel was impressed by the range, quality, differing artistic styles, and inspirational work being created across Greater Manchester. The exhibition is free and will be on until Sunday 27th March.
Superbia Cinema at Ducie Street Warehouse
Wednesday 26th January
This January, Ducie Street Warehouse’s Mini Cini host their Wellness & Mental Health take over. Join Superbia by Manchester Pride for a very special evening showcasing three incredible films by LGBTQ+ creatives from Manchester. The films on show will be ‘A Love Letter‘, a love letter to freelance artists, made by freelance artists, ‘The Cost of Living‘, a surreal comedy noir, and ‘Requiem‘, set in 1605 against the back drop of the witch trials.
Art Battle Manchester XVIII at Escape to Freight Island

Art Battle Manchester XVIII – Next Stop Freight Island will feature ten new fearless artists taking centre stage. A capacity crowd will watch painters, illustrators, tattooists and street artists go head-to-head in what has been described as the city’s most energetic art event. With only 30 minutes to create a masterpiece – YOU will decide who is crowned Champion! There’ll also be loads of Freight Island’s usual offerings of banging cocktails and delicious food for you to enjoy, too.
The Smile Screening (Live Broadcast) at The Talleyrand
Sunday 30th January
The Smile, the new group comprising Radiohead’s Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood and Sons Of Kemet’s Tom Skinner, will play three consecutive live shows in twenty-four hours at Magazine London, in the heart of London’s Docklands, on January 29 and 30. Performing to a seated audience in the round, each show will be broadcast in real-time via livestream. The Talleyrand is showing the gig in full at its cosy Levenshulme retreat! Tickets are £15.95, and the performance will start at 1am.

As part of YES’ current MOOD SWING line-up of events, Porij, TV Priest and Henry Carlyle will be taking to the stage in the venue’s iconic basement this Friday! BBC 6 Music faves, Porij will be armed with their synth-soaked tracks and one-third of the Orielles, Henry Carlyle will be debuting his solo journey. TV Priest’s chugging, bassy and quite frankly chaotic live performance completes the bill – this one’s a bit too good to miss!
Hit & Run: End of Jan Grand Slam with A.M.C / Commodo / Levela

Hit & Run is back for a big bash at Hidden this weekend to finally celebrate the end of January! Dom Whiting, Nia Archives and No Patterns will all have their Manchester club debuts this Saturday, so it’s gonna be a biggie.
