NEW to launch at the Radisson Blu Edwardian, Free Trade Hall Manchester. The way to a man’s heart this Valentine’s Day is through a gentleman’s afternoon tea, according to the Radisson Blu Edwardian, Free Trade Hall Manchester.
Set in glamorous and iconic surroundings, Manchester’s foodie destination, Opus One, has launched a His ‘N’ Hers Afternoon Tea this year, for couples to enjoy together to mark Valentine’s Day.
While ladies love the intricate delights promised by afternoon tea, men are often left wanting more ‘man’ options and now their Valentine’s wishes have been granted at the luxurious site of the former Free Trade Hall.
General manager Stephen Miles said: “Afternoon tea is a popular year-round treat but it is certainly something that is savoured by the ladies more than gentlemen.
“We wanted to create a different Valentine’s Day experience, which could be enjoyed by all. Of course, we certainly recommend sharing with your partner this Valentine’s so you can experience both teas.”
New for Valentine’s 2013, the gentleman’s afternoon tea is served on a traditional three-tiered cake stand but the contents are decidedly masculine, with pretty pastries and tempting sandwiches replaced with homemade scones, clotted cream and thick-cut sandwiches.
Mini Yorkshire puddings with Cheshire beef and onion gravy, warm pork pie with local apple chutney and mini fish and chips with Manchester caviar complete the tea.
This can all be washed down with a pint of local cask beer if Champagne or specialty teas are not to your taste.
Ladies can continue to enjoy a traditional afternoon tea, with delicate savouries and inviting sweet treats sure to satisfy the Valentine’s Day appetite.
Prices start from £16.95 per person.
