Globally sourced wine brand, Most Wanted Wines, have offered five diverse artists a blank canvas with which to express themselves, and Northern street art duo Nomad Clan have designed the label for their Cabernet Sauvignon, exclusively stocked by Co-op.
The special edition label has been designed by internationally-acclaimed street art muralist duo Nomad Clan.
Often their work is inspired by local history or folklore but on a deeper level often joins the dots between the past and present, shining a light on socioeconomic issues, patterns and loops in time, for example the demise of industry and lack of jobs, inner city social deprivation, etc.
Sarah Benson, wine buyer at Co-op said: “Helping consumers navigate a wall of wine is a challenge so this project is a great opportunity to use labels as a blank canvas to create something engaging that also gives a creative outlet to local artists as well as creating more disruption on shelf.”
Rachel Archer, Marketing Director at Most Wanted Wines comments, “It’s impossible to ignore the cultural movements circulating globally around diversity and we wanted to show our support by launching The Most Wanted Collective. As a brand, we believe in inclusivity, celebrating identity and breaking down barriers within the wine and creative industries, which is what this campaign does. We are giving these artists a platform to freely tell their story on our labels – without labels.”
The Most Wanted Cabernet Sauvignon has launched in 500 Co-op stores at £6.50.
