Having spent 10 years supporting their partners from the railway arches of Sheffield Street, the team behind Allpress Espresso decided it was high time to set themselves up in a space that showcased the full experience to the people of Manchester. Enter the company’s flagship northern address in the heart of NOMA, a space which complements the iconic Dalston Roastery and Redchurch Street Espresso Bar in London, where the story began.
Designed by the incredibly talented Deidra Hodgson, every detail of the Manchester space has been considered when bringing the café to life. The heritage building’s original windows have been preserved, for example, and the result is an interior that really speaks to the creative spirt of our city. With ample indoor seating and natural light flooding in through those statement features it’s no wonder most people want to sit down, take their time, and drink-in this beautiful place while drinking whatever they’ve ordered from the counter itself.
Suffice to say, there’s plenty of choice on that front, and Allpress Espresso prides itself on establishing longstanding relationships at source, speaking to a commitment to only serving blends and single origins with a score of at least 83 points or more on the Speciality Coffee Association’s grading system. Similar ethics run through every aspect at front of house, with a real focus on community, hence several weeks of celebrations taking place when the firm’s northernmost outlet first opened its doors. From run clubs and natural wine tasting evenings, to Sip Sessions and more, the establishment was conceived as a hub for specialist recurring and one-off events, gatherings, workshops and more. Those eager to attend can stay tuned via @allpressespressouk on Instagram, making sure they’re among the first to know what’s coming up. Just when you thought coffee in Manchester couldn’t get any better.
