It all started back in 2020, when two brothers started up MLK Burgers — a homespun, home-based patty and bun joint. Quickly outgrowing their base, the operation grew to a spot in Old Trafford a year later. Rising to become one of the top rated joints in the city for ground chuck and chopped steak, next they set sights on opening a cafe with more varied menu options. Aspiring to create a true family vibe — laidback, welcoming, and committed to quality bites — Brewch was born in Gatley.
It’s now a go-to choice for artisanal coffees and great daytime eating, hence the name, which marries ‘breakfast’ and ‘lunch’. In terms of the menu, the choices are broad and lean towards fusion ideas and seasonal ingredients. A Gran-Berry Yogurt Bowl in summer, for example. Or French toast at any time of year, not least when it looks as good as Brewch serves up, loaded with fruits, cream and almond shavings, turning a decadent start to the day into a work of real art.
Elsewhere, you’ll find classics such as smoked salmon and poached eggs on toast, accompanied by oven baked tomatoes, onion and parsley garnish. Alternatively, opt for avocado and fried egg, or the black angus steak panini. Arguably Turkey’s most iconic wake up call, the shakshuka, is also a real highlight you can’t miss. Those looking for a fuller filling should be satisfied by the hearty full breakfast, and it’s worth noting many of the choices at Brewch go for an east-meets-west ethos, taking the best of British, US and European recipes and adding extras to spice things up a little. Smaller menu items include halloumi fries and chilli jam and freshly baked cookies. The team also do a great job as baristas, serving some of the finest coffee the south side of our city has to offer, partnering with local specialists Mancoco for high quality beans and blends.
