In a city-region awash with excellent burgers, it takes something special to really stand out from the pack. Enter Burger Stop, a homegrown success story in one of Greater Manchester’s foodie districts, with the business growing its enviable reputation at the same time as Sale was reinventing itself as the great destination for breakfasts, lunch and dinner we know it as today.
“At Burger Stop, we’re on a mission to redefine the burger experience with our commitment to freshness and quality ingredients,” the team proudly tell us. “Unlike others, we don’t settle for frozen patties – our food is our craft, which means using only the finest, freshest chicken and beef. And our veggie patties are freshly made in-house, too. Say goodbye to the disappointment of a frozen burger and hello to perfection. Every bite is testament to our dedication to excellence.”
In terms of the menu, things are relatively pared back, so nothing unnecessary, allowing the quality of the ingredients to really shine. Beef classic and chicken classic stand out for simplicity, while the double beef melt comes with twice the Angus patties, triple the cheese and added cheese hot sauce. Chicken and beef (one smashed beef burger, one fried chicken breast) speak to Burger Stop’s passion for authenticity and tradition, but commitment to coming up with new ideas. As for non-meat, the falafel burger is the standout choice, made fully vegan thanks to the type of mayo used. In comparison, the spicy classic substitutes mayo for a homemade sauce that really kicks. The list could go on, but that wouldn’t leave enough room to mention the hot wings, chicken tenders, Belgian waffles, shakes, ice cream and cookie dough that also keep the standards high. Not forgetting the amazing crushed ice coolers — strawberry & lime, mango & dragon fruit, and a few more besides.
