Selling itself as “a beacon of authentic Indian fine dining in the North West”, Indian House in Sale wants to transport diners to the bustling streets of the sub-continent through exotic flavours, capturing the essence of the UK’s favourite imported cuisine while pushing boundaries in terms of dishes and presentation. It’s about celebrating a vast culinary heritage and applying a contemporary twist to things, serving up creative and highly flavoursome innovations you really can’t find anywhere else.

According to the team, “one of the highlights is the Pot Biryani.” Served in a sealed dish, this fragrant blend of basmati rice, aromatic spices, tender meats and vegetables is slow-cooked to perfection and really takes the recipe to a whole new level. Alternatively, punt for a charcoal grill, another hugely popular choice here which sees marinated meats, greens and more prepared on open flames, affording them a smoky flavour that can’t be replicated with any other approach. Meanwhile, veg and meat thalis are also a big hit — an assortment of dishes served at the table on generous platters, meaning your party gets to embark on a genuine foodie odyssey few will forget. In terms of curry, choose from classics to more unique offerings, think chicken tikka masala and lamb rogan josh alongside natu kodi pulusu and egg burji.

Beyond these, Indian House offers a number of fusion-style menu options, for example the pizza dosa, which is a combination of the inimitable namesake South Indian delicacy with the Italian speciality. Meanwhile, the tandoori burger is similarly in-demand, with barbecue flavours placed between two buns with the obligatory toppings and trimmings added. Of course, you can also indulge in a host of more traditional street food options, too, such as pani puri, samosas, and chaat, to name but a few. And as all that eating is bound to make you thirsty, it’s worth noting the excellent range of mocktails, cocktails, and milk shakes on offer. Or, alternatively, punt for standard bar serves like beers and wines.
