It all started as a pop-up bar in the heart of Spinningfields. How things have grown. The Lawn Club has so much to answer for in terms of establishing its neighbourhood as a go-to place not just for the big businesses based in the area, but for leisure and hospitality options, too. A laidback destination known for a number of things, not least on a sunny afternoon when the outside-inside setting really comes into its own, the patio doors are flung open and the atmosphere begins to bubble over. Helped no end by the prosecco being poured and the tunes getting played.

First and foremost, The Lawn Club is renowned for drinks, and the cocktail menu in particular. Classics include Tommys marg, espresso martini, French martini, and raspberry mojito, while signatures feature Lawnstar martini (vanilla vodka, Passoa, pineapple, passionfruit, lemon, prosecco), jalepeno & grapefruit margarita, blue Hawaiian (Bacardi Coconut, Blue Curacao, coconut cream, lime, pineapple), Hugos garden (gin, elderflower, cucumber, mint, lemon, soda), and frozen strawberry daiquiri. Various boozy iced teas, non-alcs, and Spritz drinks are also available.

The Lawn Club matches glasses with plates, keeping standards high for the food. Pretzel bun burgers (chicken, vegan, beef), pizzas, loaded chips, sides and salads, wings and sharers dominate the all day options, while Sundays are geared towards roasts. Topside, roasted half-birds, vegan wellington, or a selection of several meats to split with three other hungry mouths. The smashing sides are a highlight here, too. As are the 90-minute weekend bottomless brunch bookings. All that aside, there’s a great selection of beers, wines and spirits, from quality everyday through to high end. Live music and screened sporting events are regularly programmed, and even in the deep midwinter you can still enjoy the al fresco vibes with yurts, warming drinks, throws, blankets and festive lighting. Cosy to say the least.
