Saddleworth has long since become one of our favourite Greater Manchester villages. Bound by green
countryside, but within striking distance of our beloved metropolis, for many people it offers the ideal balance of rural retreat and commuter hotspot. And it’s for that reason the area has become so sought after and prized in terms of property. Responding to that, the town has also developed an enviable epicurean streak, with excellent bars and restaurants serving great food and drinks. Weaver and Wilde is one example.

That’s what the team at Weaver and Wilde have to say for themselves, and for proof you only need to check the menus, which change dramatically with the time of year. So for brunch, you might find classics such as eggs benedict, florentine (or flo, as they prefer) and royale, plant-based yoghurt & granola, and a full ‘Weaver’s breakfast’. Or Saddleworth toasted fruit loaf, American Pumpernickel, and even avo-free guac on toast. Dogs have their own sausages, which says a lot, and you’ll also find an incredible charcuterie selection, alongside amazing gluten-free and flatbread sandwiches. Switching to the evening, think Atlantic King prawns, mozzarella, fig & coppa salad, beef shin ragu pappardelle, and bresaola, fennel and chard. Weaver & Wilde’s wine list is brimming with similar quality, including natural bottles, draught and bottled beers, ‘fizz’, spirits and mixers are the proverbial cherry on top. Not to mention all that B-Corp certified coffee.
